On season 6 of American Idol,
64-year-old Sherman Pore
petitioned American Idol to
allow him to audition even
though he was well past the
shows age limit of 28 years
old. The judges allowed the
audition, and Sherman went on,
and brought the judges to tears
with his rendition of "You
Belong To Me," which he
dedicated to his "lady love."
His lady love, his wife of 20
years Melissa, had passed away
from cancer two days prior to
the audition.
For My Lady Love
is Sherman's collection of
gorgeous renditions of standard
pop songs, backed by a full
orchestra.
10% of all proceeds from the
sale of
For My Lady Love will
benefit the City of Hope.
Sherman is now the official
spokesman for the cancer
research and treatment
organization. |
